Our business is intrinsically connected to the environment and nature. We endeavor to use and support pristine natural settings, in the hope of developing environmental awareness and to help improve and safeguard the areas where we conduct programs.
This is achieved through;
Environmental awareness - participants on our programs will gain first hand experiences in nature, learn about the causes and prevention of environmental damage and practice 'leave no trace' minimum impact techniques.
Environmental Service - community awareness is raised through organised beach and stream cleanups, mangrove and tree planting, fire-break clearing and junk sculptures. Click here for more information on our Environment Field Trips
Other environmental practices in our organization include;
- Buying local and organic foods and produce for our meals and avoiding the use of plastic, styrofoam and other wasteful food packaging.
- Using non-toxic and biodegradable materials and program supplies, including soaps, paints and other materials.
- Recycling paper, plastics and aluminum in our office and on our programs.
- Incorporating environmental awareness and educational components into our rural school community service programs in China.
- Encouraging re-useable food containers, dishes, utensils and water bottles on our programs.
