At Dragonfly, we are dedicated to improving the communities where we live, work, and play. On our programs, we want students to have the opportunity to help someone else, to improve their environment, and to learn more about what service is. We focus on getting students involved, and having them work hands on, and hand in hand on their service projects.

Service is its own reward, and we often see a change in students when they are out on a project.

They learn what it is to help others, to empathize with other people and the life they lead every day. They understand that we are very fortunate to live, go to school, or work where we do. Also, what students learn gives them a better cultural understanding of the people and environment around them.

Taking education out of the classrooms opens up new doors to learning, and that is one of the objectives of outdoor education. A broader goal, however, is a lifetime commitment to service, on being a global citizen. We hope to inspire the youth of today so that they will continue in these endeavors throughout their school life and later working life.

Currently, we have the following service programs. Locally in Hong Kong, we have environmental service projects such as forestry and beach clean ups. In China, we have our Rural Schools Program. A visit to a local school where students take part teaching classes is often the most valuable and rewarding experience of the program.
